Join our Team as a Third Line ICT Support Engineer
Exceed has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Third Line ICT Support Engineer to join our Aberdeen Head Office. This is a hands-on role within our ICT Managed Services team, acting as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues while maintaining critical infrastructure and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the final escalation point for complex technical incidents
- Manage and resolve major incidents, including root cause analysis
- Maintain core infrastructure (Windows Server, Active Directory, M365)
- Administer virtualisation (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
- Support and manage network infrastructure, security, and connectivity
- Monitor backups, disaster recovery, and system performance
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades, and deployments
- Automate processes and improve system reliability
- Maintain technical documentation and knowledge base
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
- Participate in on-call rota and out-of-hours support
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware desirable)
- Proven experience in a 3rd line or senior infrastructure role
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, AD, and Group Policy
- Experience with virtualisation and cloud platforms
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing)
- Scripting experience (PowerShell essential)
