EXCEED Announces Completion of First Well Operation as Appointed Well Operator

A double first!

EXCEED is pleased to announce completion of our first well operation as Appointed Well Operator, with the abandonment of the 15/21a-51 well.

Appointed by Parkmead and its abandonment partners to steer its first UKCS well decommissioning operation, this builds upon our trusted reputation for outstanding results based on effective and pragmatic project management. Working closely with Stena who provided the Stena Spey semi-submersible drilling unit, the project was safely completed ahead of time and in full compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

Reflecting the EXCEED objective to lead our clients’ energy transformation, it was a real honour to have been chosen by Parkmead, which adds to our considerable decommissioning portfolio.

Tim Coxe, Managing Director – North Sea at Parkmead said:

“As a balanced energy company with UKCS operations, Parkmead takes its responsibilities very seriously. We are therefore pleased to see the completion of this partially abandoned well in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, which has also been delivered inside of the approved AFE level.

“When choosing our supply chain partners for this scope, we ran a thorough selection process that focused on several key criteria. As part of this assessment, it was critically important to Parkmead and our partners for this abandonment, that we not only ensured maximum alignment to our own core values (best in class HS&E performance, working as one team, and striving for operational and cost efficiency), but also assessed organisational behaviours, to ensure the best chance for top quartile delivery.

“It was clear from day-1 that both EXCEED and Stena have worked tirelessly to these same core values and exhibited the right behaviours in completing our scope.”
